In search for the edge of the world
When my friend Johannes returned home after exploring the Julian Alps together for more than a week I was on my own again. I decided to stay in Kamnik, about 20 kilometers north of Ljubljana for a couple of days.
After setting up camp at the local campsite I visited the town which has some nice old buildings in it’s centre and two ruins from the middle ages.

After spending two nights at Lake Bled it was time to pick up my friend Johannes at the Ljubjana airport. Johannes had an early flight, which meant that we still had the whole day ahead of us. After stocking up for the next couple of days we headed to Lake Bohinj where we would be spending a couple of days.
A beautiful drive trough the mountains brought us there and on the first day we already hiked to the Savica waterfall. At first we were a bit misguided and thought a lousy rapid was the waterfall, but just before we wanted to head back we found out the actual waterfall was still some more hiking and a steep climb further.
To all good things come an end and after the pancakes with Eva and the kids I continued my way to Hallstätter see, an Austrian lake from the picture books. Situated between the mountains and with the picturesque town Hallstätter at it’s shores. I took my bicycle and cycled along the lake. In the evening I wildcamped along the lake and prepared my food on a campfire.
On Saturday we made it to Fano, another Italian town with a nice old center. We rented a magnificent apartment close to the old city wall and were quickly enjoying our first beer on the local square. Later we checked out the beach, harbour and old town.
